It may be crunch time for Sebastian Tounekti, who could get a rare chance to start for Celtic on Wednesday night. The Bhoys are going to be forced into an attacking shuffle due to Yang Hyun-jun being called away to represent South Korea at the Asian Games.
Yang has been in superb form of late, finding real consistency in his play, and he looked as dangerous as he has been in Saturday night's big win over St Mirren, racing away down the left and slotting home with a calm finish to win the game.
With Yang having found real form of late, it's a bad time to be losing him, but Celtic do have competition in the attacking line, and that means they have options.
In an ideal world, it's likely Martin O'Neill would go with Kasper Hogh up top, Camilo Duran on one wing and Haissem Hassan on the other. But Hogh is coming back from an injury and may have to make do with a place on the bench on Wednesday night, especially with a pile-up of fixtures set to reach its head over the next week, this St Johnstone game being followed by a date with Rangers in the cup, the first Europa League game and then a league clash with the Gers.
With that in mind, Tounekti may well be in line for a start on the left, with Duran remaining as the lead striker and Hassan starting on the right.
Tounekti looked dangerous in the first couple of games of the season, but he has been too ineffective in the final third since then, failing to keep Yang out of the team. The winger has the pace, but he has struggled to deliver accurate crosses and put the final touch on moves with his shots.
If he does start, Tounekti will have a big chance to impress O'Neill and prove he can carry the load on the left wing. To prove himself, Tounekti is going to have to find that consistency with his final product, but this is going to be his best chance to prove himself, because when Yang does come back and Hogh is fully fit, competition is going to be at its highest.
Tounekti needs to make sure he stakes his claim before then, which means he needs to find his best form and deliver, whether that's Wednesday night, in the two Old Firm games or in the Europa League opener with Ferencvaros.
