Celtic have left themselves a lot of work to do late in the summer transfer window. Also, it will be interesting to see if their plans change now that they are not going to be playing Champions League football, having come up short in the qualifier against Kairat. But as things stand, it does not feel like their approach has changed much, despite the recent setbacks.
Throughout the summer, Celtic have tried to sign multiple players, making lower bids than their transfer valuations. Unsurprisingly, those moves have led nowhere.
Now, with days left in the window, they cannot afford to allow things to drag on. And yet, there does not appear to be much of a change in pattern when it comes to their transfer approach.
Recently, it had emerged that Celtic had made a bid in the region of £2.6 million to sign Sebastian Tounekti. Hammarby rejected the offer and it is believed that they want a figure closer to £5 million. Now, it looks like the Hoops are getting readying another bid, but it could fall short of expectations once again.
Celtic readying late £3.4 million transfer bid for winger
As reported by Fotbollskanalen, Celtic are about to make another offer and that it will be about £3.4 million. On the other hand, Hammarby are preparing for a scenario in which a satisfactory bid comes in and are showing interest in are IFK Norrkoping's Isak Andri Sigurgeirsson and Brommapojkarna's Victor Lind as potential replacements for Tounekti.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Tounekti. Will Celtic be successful in signing him or will they fail with their impending second offer as well?
There are some question marks around Tounekti as well. He has been at multiple clubs already but never proven to be a prolific figure.
