It would be safe to say that Celtic fans were not happy with the club's transfer business this summer. The hope now is that the critics are proven wrong and a number of these new arrivals turn out to be quality players. Sebastian Tounekti is already showing signs of that, having put in a stellar performance on his debut.

On the other hand, Kelechi Iheanacho scored a late winner in the same game against Kilmarnock. Yes, it was only a penalty, but we have seen a fair few Celtic players miss them in recent times. It takes a lot of courage to step up in that situation and convert, which the Nigerian international did.

Hopefully, it will be a confidence booster for him. He is coming off a poor 24/25 season but if he can rediscover his best form, he could prove to be a great addition for the Hoops.

Iheanacho's contract was terminated on deadline day, before he joined Celtic on a one-year deal. The club also have the option to extend it by another season. And they are ready to take up that on only one condition.

What is that condition? As reported by Football Insider, Celtic will agree a contract extension with Iheanacho if the Nigerian striker continues to score goals and win them games.

Doing that is easier said than done. That being said, it has been the best start possible for the Nigerian striker, that is for sure.

Now, it remains to be seen if he can build on this and go on to score more goals over the coming weeks and months. If he can do that, he will be embraced by the fans and an extension would not be far away for him.
