Celtic will be playing knockout football in the Champions League for the first time since 2013. But some tough tests lie ahead. They have been drawn against Bayern Munich in the next round. The Hoops have already had one terrible experience in Germany this season, losing 7-1 to Borussia Dortmund. Nobody wants to see a repeat of that.

Hopefully, Celtic will be well-prepared going into the tie. That might mean signing another forward before the transfer window closes.

Kyogo Furuhashi was Celtic's number one striker in the first half of the season but has left this month in order to join Rennes. Adam Idah did well to score a brace against Aston Villa but one cannot overlook his 14-game goalless run preceding that match.

Fans want the club to bring in another striker in this winter transfer window. And fortunately, it looks like that is what the club want to do as well.

As reported by Football Insider, Celtic are set to go all out to try and sign Matthias Kvistgaarden to replace Kyogo. The Brondby striker is the “preferred target for Brendan Rodgers” in the January transfer window.

Celtic's interest in Kvistgaarden is nothing new though. They have been linked with the striker in the past as well and it is believed that they have tried to sign him too, without any success.

It has been suggested by some that Brondby would want a transfer fee north of £10 million in order to green-light Kvistgaarden's exit this winter. It remains to be seen if Celtic are ready to make an offer of that magnitude this late in the window.

One thing is clear though, they cannot allow things to drag on. If Kvistgaarden is out of reach, signing a short-term option on loan has to be considered.
