Celtic are the type of club who are always linked with players and the rumour mill never really comes to a stop. We are a little over a couple of weeks away from the start of the January transfer window. Unsurprisingly, there are quite a few names believed to be on the radar of the Hoops. Let's see how accurate the speculation is.

There are some names which make a ton of sense and fit the transfer policy that the club have followed in recent years. But then, there are other rumours which do not.

The recent links with Jonjoe Kenny have to fall in the latter category. Of course, most would remember his unremarkable loan spell from Everton in the second half of the 20/21 campaign as Jeremie Frimpong departed for Bayer Leverkusen.

There were not many who were calling for him to be signed on a permanent basis in the summer of 2021. But as reported by Football Insider, Celtic are pushing to try and sign Kenny from Hertha BSC in the January transfer window.

Kenny left Everton in 2022 in order to join Hertha Berlin. And his numbers since making the move to Germany have been impressive.

There are a couple of issues when it comes to any move for Kenny though. Firstly, the Celtic fans have already seen him struggle during his time at Parkhead. As a result, there is not much clamour for him to be brought back.

Secondly, Celtic do not really need another right-back at the moment. Alistair Johnston has actually been one of their standout performers this season. On the other hand, Anthony Ralston is a very capable backup option and is even the starter for the Scotland national team at the moment.
