Celtic recently pulled off a blockbuster double move. Kyogo Furuhashi brought an end to his time at Parkhead after three-and-a-half very successful years in order to move to Ligue 1 and join Rennes. On the other hand, there was a familiar face returning to Glasgow as Jota moved back merely 18 months after leaving the club for Al-Ittihad.

It is not often that we see activity of this level during the winter transfer window. And it looks like there could be more to come before everything is said and done.

Of course, Kyogo is not a like-for-like replacement for Jota. So, fans are hoping to see the club sign a striker before the winter transfer window slams shut. And there is a positive update in that regard.

As reported by Football Insider, Celtic are plotting a move to sign Mathias Kvistgaarden late in the transfer window in addition to the re-signing of Jota. The 22-year-old is expected to command a £10 million transfer fee this month as Brondby are reluctant to see him leave mid-season.

Celtic have been linked with a move for Kvistgaarden for several transfer windows now without anything ever materialising. It is not for a lack of trying though as it is believed that they made transfer offers for him in the past but failed to reach an agreement with Brondby.

It remains to be seen if that changes this time around. Of course, there is no guarantee that Celtic will even make an attempt to sign Kvistgaarden this winter.

And even if they do, it might not be a straightforward deal. Not only is the transfer fee a steep one for Celtic but it is also believed that Eintracht Frankfurt want Kvistgaarden as a replacement for Omar Marmoush.
