Celtic have had a slow start to the summer transfer window, but things are expected to pick up quickly over the next few weeks. We are likely to see the Bhoys spend plenty of money this summer, but we are also likely to see them lose a handful of players.
Some will be offloaded due to not being in Martin O'Neill's plans, while others will be lured away by big opportunities elsewhere. Here we take a look at some of the likely big profile Celtic exits this summer.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
It looks as though a new deal is not going to be on the table for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who, contractually speaking, has already left the club. It could be one the Bhoys revisit if they are lacking depth later in the summer, but for now, it seems the experienced midfielder will not be kept on.
Kelechi Iheanacho could well join this list, in the same contract situation as Oxlade-Chamberlain, but given Celtic are sorely short of Celtic, he might just end up back at the club this summer.
Maik Nawrocki
Nawrocki spent last season out on loan, and all indications are that Celtic will sign another starting-calibre centre-back this summer, taking the total of key centre-backs up to four, leaving Nawrocki and Dane Murray on the fringes. Nawrocki could well be allowed to leave.
Alistair Johnston
If you would have asked if Johnston would be leaving at the start of this World Cup, the likely answer would have been 'no', especially after injury plagued his last campaign. But he has stood out for Canada this summer, and there is already talk of Premier League interest. Johnston could well be lured away.
Daizen Maeda
Celtic would love to keep hold of Maeda, but he is in the last year of his contract, and the reality is that they will likely have to cash in. Maeda knows that, and he is likely to end up in a top league elsewhere.
Arne Engels
Celtic rejected offers for Engels in the last window, but they know the midfielder is going to want his big opportunity this summer. There is plenty of interest from the Premier League and beyond, and Celtic are likely to make safely over ÂŁ20million on the sale.
Nygren and Hatate could miss out on moves
Benjamin Nygren has been linked with an exit, but with Celtic losing other big-money players, the winger might just have to stick around this summer. Nygren also disappointed a little at the World Cup, which will have halted his transfer momentum.
Elsewhere, Reo Hatate seems to want a fresh challenge, and if Celtic can get a replacement in, they may grant him one. He is coming off a less productive season, and O'Neill may look to find creative inspiration elsewhere, but he is certainly behind Maeda and Engels in the queue to leave, and the Bhoys may feel as though they want to keep Hatate if enough key players leave before him.
