It remains to be seen how things will play out for Celtic over the course of this season. Their start has not been up to the mark. But in Brendan Rodgers, they have a manager who is adept at getting the best out of his team and winning titles, even if the football is not always aesthetically pleasing. On the other hand, this squad is also full of serial winners who know what it takes to get over the line.
While Celtic might not be enjoying a great start to their campaign, some of their players are. Unfortunately, one of them is doing so out on loan.
We are talking about none other than Luis Palma. He was sent on loan to Polish club Lech Poznan this summer and has made a very bright start there. And there is already talk about a permanent move in the future, with there being a €4 million buyout clause included in the deal.
It remains to be seen if Lech Poznan take that up or not. Honduras coach Reinaldo Rueda certainly appears to be hoping so. As reported by Once Noticias, he said:
"If Luis signs with Lech , it will be a win-win situation: for him, for the club, and for the Honduran national team."
Celtic player urged to leave by his international manager
Let's see what the future holds for Palma. He has been brilliant for Lech Poznan so far, there is no doubt about that. That being said, that was the case for him at Celtic as well.
It is easy to forget but Palma was actually one of Celtic's best performers at one point, even scoring against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. But his form would fade away over the course of the season and once he lost his place in the team, he was never able to win it back.
It remains to be seen if Palma is able to keep on performing for Lech Poznan or not. If it is the latter, they might not take up the option.
