Heading into the UEFA Champions League qualifier play-off first leg at Celtic Park, Brendan Rodgers has a few problems to solve. One of them has to be the Hoops' lack of goals up top right now. In their three games, they have found the back of the net seven times. Once against St Mirren, twice against Aberdeen and four times against Falkirk. But none of those have come from one of their strikers.

Adam Idah simply does not look ready to be the man to lead the line for Celtic, even though he has spent 18 months at the club and scored 29 goals for them already. He appears to be a better fit as an impact substitute rather than the first-choice number 9.

Thus, that starting spot is up for grabs right now. Fans are hoping that a new addition will be made before the summer transfer window closes in a few weeks' time.

On the other hand, the game against Falkirk was a good opportunity for someone like Johnny Kenny to make an impression on Brendan Rodgers. He was handed a rare start and if he had scored a goal or two, perhaps he would have found himself in the starting XI against Kairat Almaty, based on form if nothing else. But now, there is little chance of that happening.

As reported by Born Celtic, Paul John Dykes said while talking about Kenny on ACSOM:

"On that performance, he’s not starting next week. And this isn’t me being negative.

“It’s all about quality. And in front of goal, he’s been left wanting tonight, I think."

Well, that sounds pretty on the mark, there is no doubt about that. Kenny probably should head out on loan.

That had seemed like the plan from the very beginning. But due to Celtic's lack of options up top at the moment, he has stayed on at Parkhead rather than going out and joining a club where he will get game time.
