It would be safe to say that Celtic have their fair share of problems right now. The club and its players are going through a rough patch of luck. Cameron Carter-Vickers has picked up a long-term injury that could potentially keep him out for the rest of the season, according to fresh claims in the media. On the other hand, it is unclear how long Alistair Johnston and Kelechi Iheanacho will be out for with their own respective injuries.
These injury problems extend to those away from Celtic Park at the moment as well. One of the club's most highly-rated academy graduates has picked up a medium-term injury while out on loan.
Those with a keen memory will remember that Adam Montgomery had played a decent bit of first-team football in the first half of Ange Postecoglou's debut campaign as Celtic manager. But he would soon slip down the pecking order as additions were made to the squad and more senior players returned from injuries.
Since then, Montgomery has never really gotten into the Celtic first-team picture. Injury problems have not helped his career either, and he has picked up another one while out on loan at Livingston.
Celtic player ruled out for 10 weeks with calf injury
There is bad news surrounding the Celtic loanee coming out of Livingston. As reported by Glasgow World, Montgomery is facing up to ten weeks on the sidelines with a calf injury.
He was starting on a consistent basis for Livingston before his injury. Unfortunately, he has dealt with quite a few in the past and there are question marks about his fitness.
It is very clear that Montgomery is unlikely to be a regular feature for Celtic in the future. But perhaps things could have worked out for him at Livingston and he might have earned himself a permanent move to the club or somewhere. But this injury will prove to be a hurdle on that path.
