It is no secret that Celtic have their injury problems at this point in time. And if they want to go on and have a successful season from here, they will need to find a way to remain. Of course, that is easier said than done, when you watch your players pick up fresh issues pretty much every game and a number of them are out for the long term, having undergone surgeries recently.
Under these circumstances, it is not easy for Martin O'Neill to continue delivering results until a permanent manager is brought in. And even after that, things won't get better immediately.
So, the last thing that Celtic can afford at this point in time is another injury. Unfortunately, during the most recent international break, it had looked like they might have been handed another blow in this regard.
Colby Donovan had to be stretchered off. Of course, that is never viewed as a good sign. But fortunately, it looks like the issue was nothing serious and he should be available very soon once again.
Celtic player returns to training in superb injury boost
The injury was always tipped to be something that is not very serious. And that has come to be true, which is brilliant news for the Hoops. As reported by The Celtic Way, Donovan has been spotted in training today after being stretchered off for Scotland under-21s last week.
It is safe to say that this comes at a good time for Celtic. They do not have many options at right-back at the moment.
Alistair Johnston was rushed back from his previous injury and has picked up another one. He has undergone surgery this time and will be out for a while.
