Celtic had one injury worry at the weekend as Cameron Carter-Vickers was left out of the matchday squad to take on Kilmarnock. It was believed to be precautionary but considering the American's fitness history, it is not hard to understand why fans might be worried about another potential spell out on the sidelines.
On the other hand, Celtic came out of the game against Kilmarnock with another fitness worry. Of course, we are talking about Adam Idah.
As reported by The Scottish Sun, Adam Idah has pulled out of international duty with Ireland. The striker's withdrawal is related to the hefty head knock he suffered in a challenge with Joe Wright.
Idah required lengthy treatment before he continuing. He was eventually subbed off but appeared to be feeling the effects even at full-time.
Celtic player pulls out of international duty due to injury
Of course, it is never good to see a player pick up any sort of injury, whichever team they play for. Head injuries are even more worrying. One can only hope that Idah is fine and the decision to withdraw is precautionary. The international break should give him some time to recover.
Idah is a key part of this Celtic team. The club shelled out an initial transfer fee believed to be around £8.5 million plus another million in add-ons in order to sign him on a permanent basis from Norwich City in the summer.
Now, one could argue that they did not need to make level of investment for someone who is cover for Kyogo. But one has to recognise that Idah gives Brendan Rodgers a completely different option on the bench. And he is more than good enough to be starting, when the Japanese international needs a day off or it is the type of game which needs a physical forward.
