Brendan Rodgers won pretty much everything as Celtic manager, multiple times over. Nobody can argue with the success that he has brought to the club over his two stints in Glasgow. That being said, that does not mean that he gets everything right. And one has to wonder if the Northern Irishman has gotten it completely wrong when it comes to one player in particular.

Rodgers named a very different Celtic starting XI in the game against Aberdeen. Fitness issues and an eagerness to keep the cards close to his chest before the Scottish Cup final might have combined to lead to that decision.

That did not stop Celtic from getting a positive result though. They went into the break 2-1 up and followed that up with two goals soon after half-time.

One player who left the fans impressed in the first half was Maik Nawrocki. He scored the opener for the Hoops after being handed a start, leaving many to question why he had not been given more playing time over the course of the season.

It is safe to say that Celtic fans were pretty happy with what they got to see from Nawrocki in the first half. And they let it be known on social media.

Nawrocki is someone who has done pretty well, whenever given a chance. Yet, that has not led to him getting consistent playing time in the first-team.

One has to wonder why Rodgers has chosen to overlook the defender, even when he has done well. At the end of the day, the Hoops have faced their issues at the back and perhaps the Pole could have helped them in this regard. But he has not gotten the chances that he needs to do that. Hopefully more will come.
