Celtic player could get big chance amid exit links

We are heading towards another busy period for Celtic. Although to be fair, it’s rarely quiet when it comes to the Hoops. Even during the international breaks, a large portion of the squad is kept busy. Brendan Rodgers' side return to Premiership duty with an away match against Hearts at Tynecastle Park next weekend.
A Champions League game against Club Brugge follows that. There’s then eight more fixtures before a visit to Ibrox on January 2. That's a hefty schedule and we can likely expect to see Rodgers make full use of his squad over that period.
As reported by CeltsAreHere, Daniel Cummings is set to train with the club’s first team next week. The striker has been in prolific form for the B Team this season so far.
It looks as though Rodgers is making sure he has plenty of cover. He might also try to take a further step and bring Cummings into a matchday squad. Although that's a huge step up, the youngster is in terrific form this season and could be ready to challenge for a place.

Cummings is still only 18 years of age but has scored 20 goals from 18 appearances this season. That includes four in the UEFA Youth League, two of which came recently against RB Leipzig U19. It’s quite a strike rate and he could make a name for himself if given a first-team opportunity.
Rodgers’ first thoughts may be more about cover for his forward line in case of injury. The club opted to only sign Adam Idah in the summer as a striker and to rely on Daizen Maeda’s ability down the middle as a backup for the Irishman or Kyogo Furuhashi. That thinking may have changed somewhat now.
Luis Palma has struggled on the left wing this season, which means there isn’t as strong a backup there if Maeda did play more centrally. Idah has yet to show his best form either and had a tough time last time out at Kilmarnock.
Rodgers will also have noted Cummings’ great form and could be thinking the youngster might bring something extra to the frontline. He’ll also be conscious that other clubs are rumoured to be interested in the youngster, especially those down in England.
