The future of a few Celtic players is in doubt at the moment. That is always going to be the case at a club of this size, where the competition for places is very high at all times. A run of three or four bad games and you might be out of the starting XI for months to come. And with the way Nicolas Kuhn and Daizen Maeda have been performing this season, it has been almost impossible for others to get a look in.

Luis Palma is certainly someone who has struggled to get into Brendan Rodgers' plans lately. He had done well in preseason but an early season injury meant that he mostly came off the bench in the first few games.

That allowed the likes of Kuhn and Maeda to solidify their places in the team. James Forrest contributed positively as a substitute as well. And ultimately, even appearances off the bench became rare for Palma.

His father's comments suggest that Palma is keeping a positive attitude about things, recognises that others are doing well and is waiting for his chance to come. But at the same time, the possibility of him leaving has not been ruled out either.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Don Enrique Palma said about his son's situation at Celtic:

"Luis made the decision to withdraw and everything is fine.

"He is with Celtic right now and he will focus on being there until the end of the year.

"There may be a transfer, but what happens with him depends on his work."

Palma's attitude about the situation seems to be a real positive and will make fans want to see him succeed. His father continued:

"We have to remember the other players in the team are doing very well.

"It's just a matter of working hard to get the manager's trust again and that is his mentality. He has to show the way.

"Things are going well for his team. There is no difference of opinion or anything like that, he just has to wait for his opportunity to come.

"Last year, he also had a slump, but worked hard and got through it.

"He is not sad about the situation because he knows the season is just starting and there are so many games left including in the Champions League."

Since those comments, Palma has already sent a message to Rodgers for more playing time after the international break by scoring a hattrick in Celtic's 3-2 win over Sligo Rovers in a mid-season friendly between the two teams. There is no doubt that on top of his game, the Honduran winger can be an asset for the Hoops.
