There has been a ton of change at Ibrox over the weekend. After losing to St Mirren at home, the Rangers made the decision to sack Philippe Clement and replace him with Barry Ferguson until the end of the campaign. How have the Celtic players reacted to the situation that has been unfolding at Ibrox?

Celtic might have been knocked out of the Champions League by Bayern Munich. But they still have a lot to play for domestically.

Celtic have a significant lead in the Premiership title race but it is important to end the league season on a high note. There is the possibility that the Rangers enjoy a new manager bounce, which they always seem to do. So, there is not much room for the Hoops to slip up. On the other hand, the Scottish Cup is still up for grabs as well.

As a result, it looks like the Celtic dressing room was not particularly concerned about how things have unfolded at Ibrox over the last couple of days. As reported by the Daily Record, Alistair Johnston said:

"For us, it's just more of what we've been doing. We're very good at keeping things in-house, not listening to outside noise, not caring really what's going on around the world, around the league. We've really just got to focus on ourselves. And at the end of the day, if we take care of business and we play our football, we will win the things that we want to win.

“So that's kind of our focus – just taking it day by day, match by match. You put that Hibs one behind you and now, look, it's another match right away, Aberdeen at home, another good test. Let's go out there. How can we impose ourselves on them? Find a way to get a big result at home, get ourselves back on track, and then go from there.

"So again, we're not really focused on the table. We're not really focused on exactly how many matches are left. We know that we're into that final stretch. We want to be in a really good place so that when the sun finally comes out, that we're really kicking into another gear and sprinting through that finish line."

Of course, that is the perfect way for the Celtic players to do with this situation. The Hoops have a lot of things to worry about themselves.

Firstly, they are coming off a defeat in the league. They lost 2-1 to Hibernian away at Easter Road. Of course, the game had its fair share of questionable decisions, with VAR ruling out a late equaliser from Daizen Maeda. But ultimately, a loss is a loss and it is time to get back to the drawing board.

Celtic have shown the ability to do that time after time though. So, the fans will not be particularly concerned about this team. Their next game is against Aberdeen, a chance to bounce back.
