It looks like Celtic are looking to get their transfer business done early for a change this summer. They need to strengthen in multiple positions and, unlike the last three seasons, this time around, they will have to qualify for the Champions League. Of course, that has proven to be a difficult hurdle for the Hoops in recent times.

So, it would be an advantage for Celtic if they are able to bring in their signings early. And it looks like they are pushing to sign a winger.

As reported by CeltsAreHere, Celtic have made an official approach for Nordsjaelland’s Benjamin Nygren. Talks are now underway between the club and the player's representatives, with the Scottish champions hoping to conclude a deal in the region of just around £2 million.

Nygren is entering the final six months of his contract at Nordsjaelland. So, he could be available for a bargain fee.

Nygren scored 16 goals and provided 4 assists in 32 appearances for Nordsjaelland last season. He stepped up to the plate in the Championship round, scoring six times in just ten games. So, it is not hard to see why Celtic are trying to sign him.

Nygren has made his presence felt at the international level as well. In four games for the Sweden national team, he has scored twice already, with his goals coming against Hungary and Northern Ireland.

If you are to be a starting winger for Celtic, you need to score goals consistently. It is pretty clear that Nygren knows his way to the back of the net and so, he might be a pretty good fit for the Hoops. Now, it remains to be seen if the club are able to get a deal done to bring him to Glasgow.
