It is no secret that Celtic could do with more options at striker. Johnny Kenny was the club's main number during Martin O'Neill's interim spell. And while the Irishman did a decent enough job, he is not viewed as someone who is good enough to lead the line for the Hoops yet. The problem is, they do not have any real alternatives.
Kelechi Iheanacho has been out injured for several weeks, going back to when Brendan Rodgers was the manager. Callum Osmand was looking good before picking up a long-term injury as well.
On the other hand, Kyogo and Adam Idah were not replaced when they left. And Daizen Maeda is expected to leave this January after seeing a summer exit blocked.
So, it looks like Celtic could do with another striker in the winter. Incidentally, they might be set to come up against a potential future signing when they take on AS Roma in the Europa League soon.
Celtic offered chance to sign Brighton & Hove Albion striker
As reported by TEAMtalk, Evan Ferguson has been offered a host of clubs ahead of the January window. The Hoops held talks over a move for the Brighton & Hove Albion striker in the summer and have again been approached.
Ferguson is currently out on loan at AS Roma. But it would be safe to say that things have not gone as all parties would have expected when the move was made.
The Irish international striker has only managed to score just once in 14 appearances for the Italian club. Now, it might be time for the loan spell to be cut short and for him to join some other team in search of his form. He needs a confidence booster for sure and Celtic might be the perfect place for him.
