Celtic are clearly looking to bring in some of the best rising talents from across clubs in Europe. They have already signed a couple this summer. Isaac English, the highly-rated defender has been brought in from Greenock Morton. On the other hand, Callum Osmand's arrival from Fulham has also been made official as he arrives to strengthen the Hoops' ranks up top.
But it does not look like Celtic are planning to stop there. Now, an Irish winger appears to be on the Hoops' radar.
As reported by the Lancashire Post, Preston North End are one of several clubs to be linked with Cathal O’Sullivan. Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace, Celtic and now Brentford are also credited with interest in the Cork City winger.
It remains to be seen if Celtic end up making a move for the Irish youth international. The 18-year-old could be another solid addition for the Hoops but there is clearly a ton of competition for his signature.
Celtic and Nottingham Forest linked with Irish winger
O'Sullivan is capable of playing in a number of positions and has already represented Ireland at a variety of youth international levels. So, it is not hard to understand why someone like him might have caught the eye of Celtic.
Of course, there is no guarantee that they will succeed in their chase to sign the youngster. So, let's see how things play out over the coming weeks and months.
There is plenty of other transfer activity that seems to be going around Parkhead at the moment. Exits are expected to take place while Hayato Inamura, the Japanese defender from Albirex Niigata, is believed to be closing in on a move to Celtic Park this summer. And we just entered July. So, there could be a lot more to come over the coming weeks.
