Celtic are set to take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League this week and it gave us the chance to take a look over their squad. There is one name there that stands out as someone who can be a potential signing for the Hoops in the future, as he has not gotten a ton of chances with the Bundesliga club and his current contract is set to run out in the summer of 2026.

The player we are talking about is Gabriel Vidovic. The 21-year-old versatile talent has been regarded as a top talent for a long time but it is never easy to break into the Bayern Munich first-team.

He was an absolute standout while coming through the ranks. Vidovic has also had promising loan spells at clubs like Dinamo Zagreb and Vitesse. He has only made four senior appearances for Bayern Munich though.

The 21/22 season, playing for Bayern Munich II, might be the best reflection of what Vidovic could bring to the table for Celtic. In 30 appearances, he scored 21 goals and provided 10 assists.

Of course, that was not at the senior level, but it just shows what he is capable. Interestingly, Vidovic played as a number 10, a second striker and a centre-forward during that 21/22 season.

He was at his most effective when playing in that number 10 role though. In just 10 appearances there, he scored 11 goals and provided 5 assists.

Celtic could do with that sort of output from their number 10 at the moment. They have not really replaced the goals and assists that Matt O'Riley was bringing to the table before leaving for Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer. Someone like Vidovic might be able to replicate that.
