Even though Celtic have continued to enjoy success on the pitch, it has become very clear in recent years that some changes are required behind the scenes if the Hoops are to keep up with the times and continue moving forward. One such step seems to have been taken recently, with the arrival of a highly regarded individual.
Over the last few days, the rumours had been doing the rounds. Now, it has been made official by the club itself.
As reported by the club's official website, Paul Tisdale has been appointed as Celtic’s Head of Football Operations. In this role, he will oversee the development and management of effective operations to support high-level football performance. That will include the identification and development of talent.
Celtic's recruitment record has been shaky over the years, with the exception of Ange Postecoglou's first season with the club. Hopefully, the arrival of Tisdale will help in this regard.
Celtic make official announcement after recent rumours
It looks like Tisdale assisted the club across the summer transfer window. That seemed to leave a positive impression. Now, he joins Celtic on a permanent basis.
There has been plenty of positive things said about Tisdale over the last few days, since the rumours broke out of him being set to get a role at Celtic. Now, it remains to be seen whether he can deliver on all the hype surrounding him.
Tisdale is someone who has worn many hats in football. He played for a few clubs, including Southampton. He had to retire early due to injury and ended up swiftly moving into management. He spent a lot of time managing in the lower leagues of English football. That included a 12-year spell with Exeter City. He has since then moved away from management and moved into this new role.
