Celtic are expected to be busy this winter. The Hoops already have the Scottish League Cup in the bag and are leading the Premiership title race by a significant margin. Yet, the 3-0 defeat against the Rangers away at Ibrox at the start of the year showed that there is room for improvement. Hopefully, Brendan Rodgers' squad will be further strengthened.

Left-back is one position which could undergo some change. Alexandro Bernabei is expected to leave on a permanent basis after impressing on loan at SC Internacional. On the other hand, Greg Taylor's current deal runs out in the summer as well and he has somewhat unexpectedly been linked with a move away.

One cannot also ignore the fact that Alex Valle is only on loan from FC Barcelona for the season. As a result, Celtic's left-back options could look very different in the near future.

Also, as reported by the Daily Mail (via The Scotsman), Celtic have offered Kieran Tierney £35k per week to agree a pre-contract move at the end of the season. The 27-year-old is prepared to take a massive wage cut to return to his boyhood club.

Tierney is believed to be on significantly more than that at Arsenal. But not many clubs are expected to match those wages considering his constant injury problems in recent times.

Also, having spent more than five years in the Premier League, money might no longer be the motivating factor for Tierney. And it is not hard to see why a return to Celtic might hold appeal to him.

It is no secret that Tierney grew up supporting Celtic and there has always been the feeling that he would return someday. With his contract at Arsenal running out, next summer might be the perfect time to do that.
