During Brendan Rodgers' first spell as Celtic manager, the club enjoyed quite a bit of success with French forwards. Moussa Dembele was excellent during his two seasons with the Hoops and went on to join Lyon. His replacement, Odsonne Edouard, had a four-season stint at Parkhead and has been tipped by some to make a comeback this summer.

On the other hand, it looks like Celtic have another French forward in their sights. Someone who is currently playing in the second division in France.

It does feel like Celtic have been scouting for players in Ligue 2 recently. They were linked with Kalidou Sidibe of Guingamp a few weeks back. Now, it looks like Moussa Soumano of Ajaccio is on their radar.

As reported by Africafoot, Brentford want to sign Soumano. Italy's Atalanta, England's Leicester City and Leeds United, and Scotland's Celtic have also been monitoring him. The player is also being monitored by Mali coach Tom Saintfiet.

19 years of age, Soumano already has a decent bit of experience under his belt. He has made 66 appearances for Ajaccio so far.

Soumano mostly plays as a forward but has the ability to perform as a winger as well. And it looks like the youngster has caught the eye of many top teams around Europe.

Celtic need a third striker. They have two very good options in the form of Daizen Maeda and Adam Idah, but at this point in time, it does not look like Johnny Kenny is ready to make much of an impact at the senior level for the Hoops. He returned from a great loan spell at Shamrock Rovers in the winter but has not featured much since then. So, it remains to be seen what the future holds for that spot.
