Things are moving quickly at Celtic right now. They had already announced the arrival of Kieran Tierney as a free agent after his six-year run at Arsenal and the signing of Isaac English, a defender from Greenock Morton. Now, a third deal is over the line as well and it is one that we have been waiting for for a while.

Scott Bain left the club unexpectedly earlier in the summer. Now, a replacement has been brought in for him and it is a familiar face.

After Tierney, the Hoops have completed another return. As reported by the club's official website, Ross Doohan has signed for Celtic on a three-year deal.

Doohan came through the youth ranks at Celtic, spending eleven years there. Now, he is back and is set to be the third-choice goalkeeper for the Hoops behind Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo.

During his first spell at Celtic, Doohan was able to make only four appearances for the club. He spent seven spells out on loan and at six different clubs.

He would end up leaving for Tranmere Rovers and then moved to Forest Green Rovers, playing a decent bit of football for them. Ultimately, he joined Aberdeen and spent the past couple of seasons there. While Doohan was not a starter for the Dons, he did make 20 appearances for them.

It is hard to imagine that Doohan will get much, if any, playing time for Celtic. Both Schmeichel and Sinisalo will be firmly ahead of him in the pecking order, exactly what the case was with Bain.

It is certainly an interesting decision from Doohan to return to Celtic at 27 years of age as a cover option. Perhaps he is ready to play this role for the next few seasons at least.
