There are a number of positions where Celtic need to strengthen this summer. So far, they have not made much of a splash, signing Julian Araujo on loan from Bournemouth for the remainder of the campaign. Kyogo Furuashi is also being linked with a temporary switch to Parkhead, after scoring just one goal since joining Birmingham City in the summer.

Perhaps the club's reluctance to spend significantly on transfers is understandable. Wilfried Nancy was sacked earlier this week and while Martin O'Neill is brilliant, he is only in interim charge. So, would it be wise to make big-money signings right now, when a new manager could come with very different ideas in the summer?

That has not stopped Celtic from being linked with a few moves that would cost them a pretty penny. One such player they've been linked with is Silas Andersen.

Formerly of Inter Milan, he is currently at Hacken. And as reported by Fotboll Direkt (via 67 Hail Hail), the Swedish club would entertain offers in the region of £8.6 million for him.

Andersen came through the youth ranks at Inter Milan. He did not make the grade at the senior level there though. Instead, he has carved out a different path for himself.

He went to Dutch side FC Utrecht, where he played most of his football at the youth levels as well. Ultimately, his big break arrived at Hacken. He has been a standout performer in the Swedish top flight and has caught the eye of Celtic as a result.

It remains to be seen if Celtic will make an offer in that region or not. That would be a significant fee to spend on signing a 21-year-old without any experience at the top level though.
