Celtic will face Dundee United at Tannadice in the League Cup second round, one of the tougher draws Martin O'Neill's side could have been handed. The Hoops lost both away games against the Tangerines last season, 2-1 in December and 2-0 in March, so will be taking nothing for granted.
When does the Scottish League Cup second round take place?
The League Cup second round is scheduled for the weekend of the 15th and 16th August. However, to help the Hoops prepare for their UEFA Champions League play-off tie, do not be surprised if their fixture is brought forward to the Friday night. This was the case just last season when Brendan Rodgers' side cruised to a 4-1 victory over Falkirk at home, before their meeting with Kairat did not go quite so well.

This clash in Perth will now take place during a mid-week in September, depending on which European competition the Celts end up in.
