Celtic learn FC Barcelona's Alex Valle recall decision
Celtic needed to sign a left-back in the summer to provide some competition to Greg Taylor. They did not make a permanent addition in that area of the pitch but did go on to sign Alex Valle on loan from FC Barcelona. The youngster had featured, and impressed, for Hansi Flick's side in preseason but was clearly not part of their first-team plans.
Valle has impressed many with his performances for Celtic since arriving on loan. While there are areas where he can improve, especially defensively, there is no doubt about his ability going forward.
That has led to some speculation about Barcelona recalling him on loan from Celtic this January. But is that accurate or just any day in the rumour mill?
As reported by SPORT (via The National), a return to Barcelona in January looks to be off the cards. They state that Flick is pleased with Valle's performances, with the club 'monitoring his progress' at Celtic. The Spanish team 'expects' the left-back to see out the season in Glasgow, and are 'happy with how his game is evolving'.

Despite all the talk surrounding Valle, he cannot be termed as a starter for Celtic right now. Taylor continues to hold that spot.
But the FC Barcelona loanee has made a positive contribution when given a chance. In 10 appearances for the Hoops so far this season, he has made 4 assists. That is an impressive output for a left-back. Now, it remains to be seen whether his importance to the team grows over the coming months.
One cannot overlook the recent rumours linking Celtic with Kieran Tierney as well. The club hero looks set to be available in the near future with him not having a future at Arsenal as things stand.
