Celtic now know how much they will have to pay to land one of their reported striker targets this summer. The Bhoys are in desperate need of strikers, currently on course to have just one on their books next season, although the option to keep Kelechi Iheanacho remains open.
It's very likely Martin O'Neill is going to want two striker signings this summer, so Celtic will already be scoping out targets now that the summer transfer window is open and up and running.
A striker Celtic have held interest in for some time remains available in Lorent Tolaj, and an asking price has now emerged.
Celtic learn Tolaj asking price
League One club Plymouth likely have to sell star striker Tolaj this summer having failed to secure a Championship return. There is already plenty of interest in the 24-year-old, who contributed an impressive 22 goals and eight assists during the season just gone.
Amid interest aplenty this summer, the Lancashire Post report that Plymouth want £3million to sell Tolaj this summer. That could be a tricky price for some Championship clubs to pay, but it is well within reach for Celtic, who would consider it a cheap price for a goal-scoring striker with plenty of potential ahead of him, given his age.
The Bhoys need a couple of strikers this summer, and to check one of those off with just a £3million outlay would feel like a good idea.
Cleverley praise
Plymouth boss Tom Cleverley praised Tolaj back in September, describing him as 'top class'. He said: "It was only a matter of time (until he scored)".
"I can see on the training pitch that he's a top-class finisher. He's got great movement - he's an all-rounder. One thing you can guarantee is he's going to score goals for this football club. He's got a real hammer of a left foot and he can finish on his right. It's the first of many but it's always nice to get off the mark for a striker."
Those comments were after Tolaj scored his first of the season, and he went on to score 21 more during the season, with only three players scoring more than his 18 League One goals. Plymouth wound up finishing eighth, just missing out on the playoffs.
A move for Tolaj is almost certain this summer, and he is in line for a step up, but time will tell whether that will be to the Championship or the Scottish Premiership as interest continues to ramp up.
