Celtic fans must have been disappointed to see the Hoops miss a bunch of chances in an away European game and then give up an easy goal to drop points again. That is exactly what happened on their trip to Serbia as they could only manage a 1-1 draw. Kelechi Iheanacho had put them ahead after coming on as a substitute at half-time, but they could not hold onto the lead and Marko Arnautovic equalised after a Kasper Schmeichel error.

The player who had the job of defending Arnautovic on that play was Cameron Carter-Vickers. But with Schmeichel rushing out for no reason to leave an empty net, the American could not do enough to prevent the striker from scoring.

There might be another concern for Celtic coming out of the game though. As reported by CeltsAreHere, there were signs of discomfort for Carter-Vickers and he laboured through the closing phases of the match against Red Star.

One moment that comes to mind immediately is when he did well to prevent a Red Star player from getting shot on goal. But the American looked in some discomfort and went down clutching what seemed to be his knee.

Fitness is always a concern for Carter-Vickers. The American has dealt with plenty of injury problems, going back to Ange Postecoglou's time as the manager of the club.

Even this summer, he is understood to have undergone a small surgery. So, whenever he seems to be in discomfort, that leaves the fans worried.

One can only hope that it was nothing to be worried about in the game against Red Star. With the Hoops' troubles defensively at times, the American is vital to this team, especially with Auston Trusty also dealing with fitness issues right now.
