Celtic have appointed Wilfried Nancy as the new manager of the club. Not everybody is convinced that it is the right move to bring in someone with no experience in Europe to take on such a high-pressure job. That being said, perhaps the Frenchman will be able to prove the doubters wrong, just like Ange Postecoglou did some years back.

He has big shoes to fill. Martin O'Neill was tremendous during his interim spell. And before that, although Brendan Rodgers' spell ended in bad circumstances, he did win the club four trophies in two seasons, including a couple of league titles.

Speaking of Rodgers, it looks like he could make a swift return to the Premier League. But for that to happen, he might need to be convinced first, before taking on his next job.

As reported by SportsBoom, Rodgers is yet to be persuaded by Leeds United's offer to become their next manager. The former Celtic boss is intrigued by the prospect but he wants assurances on ambitions and potential in the transfer market.

That is something that did not always happen during Rodgers' second spell at Celtic. Of course, the club did back him by spending big money on signing players like Adam Idah and Arne Engels.

At the same time, one cannot overlook theri shortcomings in other transfer windows. For example, not signing replacements for players like Kyogo and Idah when they left, or leaving things too late when it came to bringing in Nicolas Kuhn's replacement and missing out on Champions League qualification as a result.

Let's see what the future holds for Rodgers. It looks like Leeds United are interested in bringing him in. But there have been some rumours about a move to the Saudi Pro League as well.
