It is always interesting to see players, who have succeeded at Celtic, hang up their boots and make the step into management. There are those who have managed to make that jump successfully, perhaps achieving more success in the dugout than on the pitch. But then, there are plenty more who have not even come close.

A Celtic hero, who has won five league titles while with the Hoops, is the most recent one to take that step and become a manager. It is none other than Charlie Mulgrew.

Mulgrew came through the youth ranks at Celtic but was not able to break into the first-team picture initially. So, he would leave and join Wolves. Soon, he did return to Scottish football though and eventually, found himself back at Parkhead.

The second time around, Mulgrew found a lot more success at Celtic, winning five league titles and was also the Players' Player of the Year on one occasion. He would eventually end up at Blackburn Rovers at 2016.

Now 38 years of age, Mulgrew has taken his first step into management. As reported by the club's official website, he has been appointed as manager of Kelty Hearts.

Kelty Hearts currently play in League One in Scotland. They currently are sitting at third in the table, just three points behind top spot. It remains to be seen if Mulgrew is able to inspire them to promotion.

Of course, Mulgrew is not the only former Celtic player who has moved into management recently. There have been quite a few and it will be interesting to see how they develop over the coming years. There is always the possibility that they could end up in the Parkhead hot seat one day, if they do well enough.
