Ange Postecoglou might have been sacked by Tottenham Hotspur but he left London with his head held high, having won the Europa League. That was Spurs' first trophy in 17 years. As a result, the Celtic hero should not have a tough time finding his next job. But he has been linked with one, which if taken, would raise plenty of eyebrows.

Postecoglou has always been very open about wanting to manage at the highest level. After all, it was not until his mid-50s that he got a proper chance in European football with Celtic.

Now, Postecogou has established himself in Europe and opportunities should no longer be scarce. But as reported by The Telegraph, he is a potential target for Al-Ahli should the Asian club make a change of manager for next season.

Postecoglou has only had a four-year run in Europe, even though it might feel a lot longer. Will he leave European football already and return to Asia? Such a move might not go down well with a lot of the Australian's fans.

Of course, no decision has been made yet. It remains to be seen what kind of offers arrive at Postecoglou's table.

There are clubs in Germany and Italy looking for a manager and someone like Postecoglou could be a good fit, especially in the Bundesliga. On the other hand, he might choose to wait for another chance in the Premier League, which should come in the middle of next season, when the sackings start.

Of course, there have been some whispers about a return to Celtic as well, as you would expect. But it does not feel like the time is right for that. Brendan Rodgers has one more year left on his deal and might stay longer.
