Over the past few weeks, very little has happened at Celtic in terms of incomings. It appears that the club might have decided to see the result of the Champions League qualifiers before moving ahead with their transfer plans. Let's see how things play out but it is safe to say that time is running out for them to bring in some fresh faces before the vital tie.
On the other hand, former Celtic players have been very active when it comes to making moves this summer. Jeremie Frimpong handed the club a significant sell-on fee through his move to Liverpool. And there is a possibility that another could be on the way.
All summer, Matt O'Riley has been linked with a move away from Brighton & Hove Albion, although it has only been a year since he joined the English club. And now, that touted moves seems to be getting serious.
As reported by Tutto Sport, O'Riley has said yes to Juventus. The Brighton player has expressed his full availability for a move to the club. Juve would guarantee him a five-year contract worth around €3 million per season. This is the draft agreement between the parties.
Celtic hero agrees deal with Juventus out of nowhere
Of course, that is no guarantee that the move will happen. One has to remember that Juventus will need to agree on a fee with Brighton as well.
Brighton are one of the smartest clubs in world football when it comes to transfers. And it is believed that they are open to the prospect of O'Riley leaving this summer, but only for the right offer.
It remains to be seen what kind of a transfer fee that represents. Juventus will need to raise funds by transferring players before making any move for O'Riley though. So, this does not look like a move that is imminent yet although it is certainly move in the right direction is the reports coming out of Italy are accurate.
