Celtic are out of the Champions League, and much of today has been spent carrying out an autopsy of the failures of the club. Failing to reach UEFA's premier competition was unforgivable, especially after the Bhoys took a four-goal lead, but as the saying goes 'you are where you are'.
There is no changing it now. Whatever has led Celtic here, and we have covered that extensively in earlier articles today, there is no going back. The Bhoys are out. They will play in the Europa League, they have missed out on a big payday, and that is that.
So, where do they go from here?
Celtic must address the midfield
Celtic's biggest problem is undoubtedly the midfield. They were flooded by LASK, with only Callum McGregor as an available holding midfielder. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was suspended, granted, but the Bhoys desperately need help in the middle.
Martin O'Neill cannot go on with so few options in the midfield, and if it is not addressed, sooner or later, this team is going to start to slide. What happens if McGregor gets injured? At least two midfielder signings are required, and urgently.
A left-back replacement is still needed
Celtic were finally made to pay for their failure to add a natural left-back to back up Kieran Tierney. The Scotland international had to go off with just under half an hour remaining, and Liam Scales had to play out of position there.
There was nothing egregious, but Celtic lost key parts of their shape by making the change. You can't get away with not having a left-back in big games like this one.
Left-wing is a problem
Celtic are not getting enough from the left-wing position. Yang Hyung-jun did well for the goal, but his passing was sloppy and his decision-making was woeful.
His performances within games have been far from consistent, and in truth, Sebastian Tounekti has looked better, but he too put in a disappointing display on Tuesday night. He was actually at fault for the last-minute equaliser.
Celtic have Jota to come back in a few weeks, but in the meantime, they look to have a problem. Perhaps it's trying Haissem Hassan on the left or looking for fresh competition, but they need more from somewhere.
Back-up goalkeeper need
Viljami Sinisalo has been excellent this season, and if it wasn't for him, Celtic would have lost the game in normal time on Tuesday night. But Celtic still need a senior goalkeeper to back him up.
