Celtic handed major boost as Rangers news confirmed
With how things are going for the Rangers right now, most of their fans will be hoping that the rumours linking Philippe Clement with the Belgian national team job are true. With Aberdeen losing this weekend, the Ibrox club were handed a golden opportunity to make up some ground. But all they could manage was a draw against Dundee United. Celtic's 4-1 win away at Tynecastle Park meant that they are now 11 points ahead of their Glasgow rivals.
We have seen the likes of Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Mick Beale being sacked when the Rangers were in better situations than this. But having handed Clement a long-term contract extension just a few months back, showing him the exit door might not be the easiest job for them right now.
Despite that, social media was buzzing with rumours earlier that Clement was on his way out of Ibrox following the draw against Dunee United. But as it turns out, that has not proven to be accurate.
Jim White confirmed that there was no change at Rangers. There was no board meeting and Clement will carry on in his role.

It is safe to say that many Celtic fans will take this as a positive. The Rangers do not seem to be headed anywhere under the management of Clement and his exit seems inevitable.
But it looks like the club are not ready to make that decision yet. That will allow Celtic to hopefully not only increase the gap between the two sides but also enter Hampden Park with an advantage when they meet in the Scottish League Cup final three weeks later.
Of course, Celtic cannot take anything for granted. Games and trophies need to be won on the pitch and there is a lot of the season left.
