Celtic have been perfect in domestic competitions this season so far, winning every game. Their only loss has come in Europe, a 7-1 defeat away at Signal Iduna Park against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. But there is one team in Scotland who have actually won all of their games so far, in every competition.

That team is Aberdeen. They are only behind Celtic in the league table on goal difference, with both teams have maximum points until this point of the season.

That run will end for at least one of these teams at the weekend. Possibly even both, because Celtic and Aberdeen will meet in league competition right after the international break.

It would be safe to say that more is riding on this result than is the case for this fixture on most seasons. Celtic will know that they cannot afford to take Jimmy Thelin's high-flying side lightly for even a second. But on the other hand, the Hoops have been handed a fitness boost leading up to the match.

Celtic handed big boost by return before Aberdeen game

As reported by the Daily Record, Cameron Carter-Vickers is back in training ahead of Celtic's game against Aberdeen. It is a major boost for Rodgers' side to have the key defender back out on the grass.

it remains to be seen whether Carter-Vickers will end up playing any part on the day though. Celtic have another very important game coming up against Atalanta in the Champions League, and returning in time for that might potentially be the priority after the result away in Germany.

It remains to be seen how things play out in this regard over the coming days. But it is great to have him back on the pitch, albeit a training one, for now.
