Celtic are a club that is constantly linked with players. But only a fraction of those end up happening. Why is that? Is there no truth to the transfer rumours in the first place? Or do the Hoops end up getting cold feet after advancing in talks over a move? Or are they simply unwilling to meet the fees needed to complete some signings? Who knows! It might be a combination of all those things.

There are a number of transfer targets that Celtic seemed to miss out on this summer, for one reason or another. There were numerous occasions when they appeared to make offers that were nowhere near what was asked for.

As a result, it is not hard to understand why the club might have had a tough time getting deals over the line. But a lot of the time, it was just not about the money either.

There were occasions when the players were not convinced about moving to Celtic. It looks like that might have been the case with Sondre Orjasaeter as well.

Orjasaeter is someone Celtic had been linked with going back to the winter transfer window. But ultimately, while he did move, a Parkhead switch did not end up happening. Why is that?

Well, now we have some clarity on the matter. As reported by the Daily Record, Orjasaeter said:

"It's true that Celtic got serious. We still couldn't reach an agreement. The fee Sarpsborg was asking for was a problem.

"But I also didn't think it was the right move for me. Celtic are a huge club, with a great history, but I honestly don't think I'm cut out for Scottish football. "

Of course, it is never a good sign when a player is not convinced about making the move. And often, in those cases, it does not end up happening.

That turned out to be the case with Orjasaeter as well. Many fans felt that he could have been a pretty good signing for the club but it looks likt he player himself was not convinced about his ability to get it done in Scotland.
