There have been occasions in the past when Celtic have failed to qualify for the Champions League due to their lack of timely and adequate transfer activity before the qualifiers. After all, they were not able to make Europe's elite competition for more than half-a-decade before being handed an automatic spot for three straight years.

At no point have the Celtic fans seemed as dissatisfied as they have in recent weeks. Perhaps it is because of a combination of events that have happened one after another this has resulted in this.

Firstly, they did not strengthen before the qualifiers. Then they were eliminated by Kairat, who had never made the Champions League before this. And the cherry on top must have been the deadline day business, as Celtic sanctioned Adam Idah's exit without having a replacement in place and then failed to sign Kasper Dolberg.

The fans want answers. And while the club have made an announcement, and a positive one at that, it is not the one that the supporters were looking for.

Celtic finally make announcement amid fan frustrations

As reported by the club's official website, the new state of the art Training Centre at Barrowfield is now complete. The facility is now fully open for use by the Women’s team and Academies.

Fans have wanted to hear from the likes of Michael Nicholson and Peter Lawwell for weeks. And they broke their silence in this announcement.

That being said, it is neither here nor there when it comes to what the fans are seeking at the moment. Yes, the training centre is a positive for sure and something that must be commended. But then again, there are other issues that need to be sorted out and nobody seems to be keen to do that at the moment. So, do not expect the dissatisfaction to go away anytime soon.
