Celtic went all out to sign Adam Idah from Norwich City on a permanent basis this summer after his successful loan spell in the second half of last season. It is believed that the Hoops shelled out an initial fee of £8.5 million with another million included as potential add-ons. Naturally, expectations are high around the Irishman.

He has been delivering on those expectations as well. Despite being the cover option for Kyogo, he has already scored 5 goals this season.

The latest of those came as a substitute against Motherwell. But overall, it was not a positive outing for Idah, as he was also on the receiving end of a rough tackle while saw Liam Gordon sent off.

The images of the tackle did not look good and it looks like the extent of Idah's injury is still unclear. The latest update on the situation is that he still has his foot in a moon boot. As reported by The Scottish Sun, Brendan Rodgers said about the situation of the striker:

"Adam was obviously on the end of a poor challenge, so we just have to wait and see with him.

"He’s still got his foot in a boot but we’re hoping that he’s got away with that."

Celtic fans will be hoping that Idah's injury is not serious and he is back available as soon as possible. He gives the club a very different option to Kyogo.

It is one that they need as well, as we saw in midweek in the Champions League away trip to Bergamo. Idah started ahead of Kyogo as Celtic earned themselves a 0-0 draw against Atalanta.

The club have more difficult games coming up in the Champions League as well. The next one is against RB Leipzig. They are currently in the race for the Bundesliga title and when the two sides met a few years back, the German club came out on top both home and away.

Someone like Idah could have an important part to play against RB Leipzig. Of course, that depends on whether he is available.
