It is safe to say that Celtic fans have a lot to be worried about at this point in time. They lost at home to SC Braga, putting in another uninspiring display. That being said, the Hoops' problems seem pale when compared to the Rangers, who have been horrible this season. Russell Martin oversaw another defeat, as his side lost Sturm Graz in another fresh blow for his side.
At this moment, the Rangers seem to be headed absolutely nowhere. And it is hard to imagine that there is any other outcome other than Martin being sacked at some point this season.
Right now, it appears that the Rangers are just pushing the inevitable. There is very little chance that Martin will be able to turn things around.
After the game against Sturm Graz, Martin does not seem to believe that there is any technical or tactical issue at Rangers. Instead, the problem lies with his mentality. As reported by BBC Sport, the manager said:
"It's mentality, not a technical or tactical problem."
Celtic fans will love what Russell Martin said about Rangers
One has to wonder how the players, the club officials or the fans will take those comments. That being said, there does appear to be some reality to those claims as well.
Martin is not the first Rangers manager who has struggled to get a tune out of his team. Before him, the likes of Mick Beale, Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Philippe Clement faced the same struggles as well, although they lasted a lot longer.
Now, it remains to be seen how long Martin will get to turn things around at Ibrox. At some point, the club will need to make a decision, if things do not improve. As for Celtic, they do need to change up a lot of things as well.
