Celtic fans will love Sky Sports' update on the next Rangers manager, as some bad news has been confirmed for the Ibrox club.

We would like to say that the Rangers find themselves in a tough spot right now, but it really is not. This is familiar territory for the Ibrox club. For the fourth consecutive season, they have sacked their manager. Russell Martin joined the list of Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Mick Beale and Philippe Clement. In this instance, he did so in record time, lasting only 123 days in the job. When he left, Celtic were nine points ahead, while Hearts are remarkable 11 in front.

Now, it remains to be seen who the Rangers end up appointing as their next manager. It is a job that nobody seems to be thriving in at the moment.

Of course, a lot of their fans want Steven Gerrard to return. It is a choice that would be based on his league triumph back in 2021. But in doing so, they would be overlooking a lot of facts. Whether that be his spells at Aston Villa and Al-Ettifaq that have followed, or the fact that he only won one trophy in three-plus years in charge at Ibrox.

On the other hand, it looks like one candidate is already out of contention for that job. As reported by Sky Sports, Sean Dyche would not be interested in becoming Rangers manager at this time.

Earlier in the day, reports had suggested that Dyche was not being considered for the role. But it looks like it is the manager who is not interested in the Ibrox job in the first place.

And to be honest, it is hard to imagine that many other quality ones would be either. Just look at how things have gone for their previous four managers.

This is not the kind of job that you are guaranteed to succeed in. In fact, the truth might be the opposite.
