Celtic have been one of the busiest teams in world football over the first few weeks of the summer transfer window. Not only have they made a number of signings but they have said goodbye to quite a few players as well. One of the is Nicolas Kuhn, whose move to Como FC has now been officially announced.
Of course, it is never easy to see key players leave. But if there was going to be one big-money exit this summer, most Celtic fans would have wanted for it to be that of Kuhn, who had been completely out of form in the second half of the season, leaving many to question whether his early performances had been a purple patch.
Also, there had been suggestions initially that the transfer package was €19 million or £16.5 million. That is not a figure that many Celtic fans were impressed with.
But now, it has been clarified that that is not the case. As reported by Anthony Joseph, Como have signed Kuhn for an initial fee of £16.5 million.
Celtic fans will love Anthony Joseph's transfer update
So, that is just the initial fee and one would imagine that there are some decent add-ons involved as well, which could push the deal towards the £20 million mark. Those figures have not been revealed yet.
At the same time, one would imagine that there will be a sell-on clause at play as well. That has been the case with pretty much every Celtic exit in recent times.
At the end of the day, Kuhn appeared to be keen on leaving. There have been suggestions that the German winger was looking to leave in the winter itself. So, overall, the club have done well and now, they need to look towards a replacement as well.
