Brendan Rodgers has a lot of tough decisions to make over the coming months, as he has not been dealt the strongest hand following a terrible summer transfer window. Now, it is up to the manager to get the best out of the squad available to him and then hope that reinforcements will be brought in in January.
There might be some solutions already right under his nose though. For example, Kasper Schmeichel is someone who has faced a decent bit of criticism for his performances since the end of last season.
Schmeichel remains the one that Rodgers prefers in goal. That being said, one cannot deny how solid Viljami Sinisalo has been whenever given a chance, even in the league. And perhaps he should be considered competition for his more experienced teammate rather than merely a cover option.
A lot of Celtic supporters appear to believe the same as well. They let their feelings be known after Sinisalo kept another clean sheet as the Hoops defeated Partick Thistle by a 4-0 scoreline to make it to the semi-final of the Scottish League Cup, where they will take on the Rangers.

One Celtic fan wrote about Sinisalo: "Should be number 1 never puts a foot wrong."
Another added: "Best goalkeeper in the league."
It remains to be seen if Sinisalo will be handed more opportunities over the course of the season. At the very least, he should be made the cup goalkeeper.
A lot of the time, replacing a starter for Celtic has been about going out and bringing in a fresh face. But this time around, it looks like the recruitment team might have gotten it right and they have the perfect replacement right under their noses. Now, it is about developing him into the starter that we know that he can be one day.
