For far too long, Celtic had gotten away with their shaky form. With the Premiership title realistically over months ago, it did not end up having much of an effect on them, even when they lost in the league. But in the Scottish Cup final, there was no hiding for Brendan Rodgers' side, as they failed to rise to the occasion.

Two of their best players, Jota and Reo Hatate, were out injured. They are also two of the club's best big-game performers. And on Sunday, it did not feel like they had one on the pitch.

Nicolas Kuhn has been a shadow of his best for a while now and Daizen Maeda missed a glorious chance as well. Kasper Schmeichel scored an own goal while Callum McGregor and Alistair Johnston fluffed their lines from the penalty spot.

Despite all this, it was Yang Hyun-jun who was the most-criticised Celtic player after his performance in the Scottish Cup final. He had come on in the 66th minute as a substitute for Adam Idah.

There are those who want to see Yang depart the club this summer. One wrote: "Hope this is the last time I see Yang in a Celtic shirt."

Another added about the South Korean winger: "One of the worst players I’ve ever seen pull on a Celtic shirt."

Then there was a Celtic fan who said: "Yang should have his contract terminated as we speak."

At the end of the day, there are going to be some overreactions after Celtic have lost a Scottish Cup final to Aberdeen. They might have done the double but the result does leave a bad taste in the fans' mouths going into the summer.

As for Yang, there have been times this season when he has shown some real quality and growth, especially earlier this year. But it feels like he needs to be doing a lot more, and consistently, if he wants to establish himself as a key player for a club like Celtic.
