It has barely been a week since the club football season ended but it has already been an eventful time. Of course, Celtic fans are hoping that the club have a great summer transfer window and add to the squad. On the other hand, a number of their key players like Nicolas Kuhn, Arne Engels and Daizen Maeda are being linked with moves away as well.
Another massive piece of news that has caught the attention of Celtic fans is the sacking of Ange Postecoglou as Tottenham Hotspur manager. The decision was made just a couple of weeks after he won them the Europa League, the club's first trophy in 17 years.
Of course, many felt that it was not the right decision considering what Postecoglou had just achieved. He should have at least been given the first few months of the 25/26 season.
That is the life of managers though. Thomas Tuchel will know that well, having faced somewhat of a similar exit at Chelsea. He is now the England manager and decided to show his backing for Postecoglou.
Celtic fans will love England boss Thomas Tuchel's claim
As reported by Optus Sport, Tuchel said while speaking about Postecoglou:
"I have the biggest respect for him, he's a huge character!
"He brought the trophy, he said he will deliver the trophy in the second year, he did!"
Tuchel also spoke about modern-day management and how even winning trophies is not enough sometimes, as was the case with Postecoglou:
"I feel for every manager, and I have huge sympathy for every manager, especially in these moments.
"I feel for them because I was in the same spot, and it feels horrible if you're in that spot. It just shows you that it is not obviously only about titles, you can let's say, 'Survive seasons' without titles if your connection, the support, the belief and the trust between the coach and the club officials is strong, then you can overcome seasons without titles, it happens.
"If there is slight disbelief, if there are concerns, if the trust is not there anymore, then it is sometimes not even enough to win a trophy after so many years."
One would imagine that Postecoglou should not have a tough time finding his next job. He did enough at Tottenham Hotspur to leave with his head held high.
A lot of teams in Italy are looking for a new manager this summer. It is the same case in Germany as well. So, do not be surprised if Postecoglou ends up in a good spot, but in a different league. Of course, if he wants to remain in the Premier League, he might need to be a bit more patient but it should not be too far into the 25/26 season that clubs starting sacking managers, and that should open up spots for him.
