With the club season over for most teams, except for those at the Club World Cup, Celtic fans are now focused on the summer transfer window. For a change, it looks like the Hoops are eager to get their business done early this time around. They have already announced the arrival of Kieran Tierney and are believed to have a pre-contract deal in place with Ross Doohan as well.
That is not all. They are also believed to be on the verge of signing Callum Osmand from Fulham and Isaac English from Greenock Morton. Progress appears to have been made in a deal to get Benjamin Nygren from Nordsjaelland as well.
Of course, changes are taking place at the international level as well. Recently, Luciano Spaletti left as the boss of the Italian national team.
The Italian national team have been struggling for a few years now. So, the exit does not come as a surprise. His replacement has left Celtic fans baffled though. As reported by Anthony Joseph, Italy are set to appoint Gennaro Gattuso as their new manager.
Celtic fans left baffled by Sky Sports man's latest update
Gattuso has had a shaky managerial career to say the least. Yes, there have been times when he has done well. But overall, he has not really impressed anywhere.
As a result, the decision to hand him the Italian national team job, especially at a time when they are struggling, seems confusing at best. Celtic fans made their feelings clear in the comment section of the post. Of course, one cannot forget that Gattuso played for the Rangers at one point.
It remains to be seen how things go for Gattuso as the Italian national team manager. But if his record is anything to go by, it is not going to be a long run.
