It would be an understatement to say that things are not going the Rangers' way this season. Celtic's draw against Dundee United had appeared to raise some hopes, no matter how far-fetched, about a collapse from the Hoops. But while Brendan Rodgers' side won 4-0 in midweek, Philippe Clement's team lost 2-1 to St Mirren. This means that the gap between the two is now at a season-high 12 points. We are in late December.
Of course, it might be a bit too early to consider this title race over. But let's just say that it would take a bit of a miracle for Celtic to not go on and win it from here.
Naturally, a lot of Rangers fans are disappointed in their team and want changes to be made. One of them seems to involve Jack Butland.
In an Ibrox Noise poll, 91% of Rangers fans asked want to see Liam Kelly given his chance between the sticks. Only 9% would stick with Butland.
Celtic fans will laugh at latest Rangers fan poll result
One has to remember that only some months back, Butland was being hailed as the best goalkeeper in Scotland by Rangers fans. But now, the majority of them would like to see him be dropped for someone who has barely played for the club over his two stints.
None of this concerns Celtic. They do seem to have a fantastic goalkeeper between the posts in the form of Kasper Schmeichel.
A lot of eyebrows were raised in the summer when the club replaced the retiring Joe Hart with someone even older than him. But Schmeichel has proven the doubters wrong already with his performances and leadership. Incidentally, he was the hero in the Scottish League Cup final as Celtic defeated the Rangers to win the first trophy of the season.
