Celtic fans quite like having Philippe Clement around. That’s very much the case for a few reasons. One of them would be his record against the Hoops, which isn’t impressive at all. The Belgian has not won a Glasgow Derby since becoming the Rangers manager last season. Will he end his stint at Ibrox without doing so?

The only derby he did not lose was the 3-3 draw at Ibrox in April which Clement and his team celebrated with a lap of honour. And there lies another reason why it's good to have him as manager of the Rangers.

Clement can almost be guaranteed to stick to a statistic, some near misses or shots on target as the reason why his side nearly won a match, but didn't. He’s had a lot of nearly won matches too, but they just don't count for much when it comes to trophies.

His record in charge of the Rangers has seen him pick up just 42 wins from 63 matches. Mick Beale had a significantly better record.

But as reported by The Scottish Sun, Clement is the favourite to be the new Belgium boss. That's after his former chief executive and mentor Vincent Mannaert was appointed Belgian FA sports director. He has been named in the media in his homeland as leading a five-man shortlist.

The Celtic fans would of course get over their disappointment quickly. They’d be able to sit back and watch the problems unfold as a stand-in executive team at Ibrox tries to find a replacement.

They’d also enjoy seeing who the Rangers fans would welcome as the next in the series of the right men for the job at the third-placed Premiership club. Let's wait and watch how it all unfolds.
