Celtic fans are searching for positives at the moment after how things have turned out for the Hoops over the summer. The club's reluctance to strengthen before the Champions League qualifiers led to a defeat at the hands of Kairat Almaty. That has followed by a terrible end to the summer transfer window, in which even the minimum expectations were not met.
Unsurprisingly, the fans have not been happy in the aftermath of it. And to be honest, we do not remember the board being under this kind of pressure from the supporters, even going back to the 20/21 campaign.
The one positive news today has been the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as the new head coach of Nottingham Forest. The news was broken earlier in the day by David Ornstein.
Of course, Postecoglou remains a fan favourite among the Celtic support. And they had words of encouragement for the Australian as he makes a return to the Premier League, merely months after being sacked by Tottenham Hotspur.
Celtic fans' immediate reaction to official announcement
Naturally, Celtic fans were full of best wishes for the Australian manager. One wrote: "Enjoy this man he is special."
But then, there are doubters, as has always been the case with the Aussie boss. One Everton fan said: "The only two people in the world that believe this is a good decision are Evangelos Marinakis and Ange Postecoglou."
Well, Postecoglou is not a stranger to doubters. And he has more often than not proven them wrong. One would imagine that winning the Europa League with Tottenham Hotspur, a club without silverware for almost two decades, falls under that category.
He even had his fair share of critics when he arrived at Celtic in the summer of 2021. Many believed he would be gone by Christmas of that year but he went on to win five trophies in his two seasons with the Hoops.
Of course, Postecoglou's appointment means that Nottingham Forest are not going to try to sign Brendan Rodgers. That is an added bonus for Celtic fans.
