Celtic have already completed a double this season, clinching the Premiership title at the weekend against Dundee United away from home. Of course, Brendan Rodgers' side cannot rest. Their next fixture is a trip to Ibrox and they must be keen to win, having lost back-to-back derbies against the Rangers. Also, they are still in contention for another trophy, as the Scottish Cup is still up for grabs and they are in the final against Aberdeen.
Celtic are a fantastic team, there is no doubt about that. And it is good to see that their performances are being recognised at the end of the season.
PFA Scotland have recently announced their nominations for the Player of the Season. Three Celtic players are up for the award. They are Daizen Maeda, Callum McGregor and Nicolas Kuhn. Simon Murray of Dundee FC Is the other one to be nominated as well.
Maeda is the favourite to win the award this time around. But that does not mean that McGregor and Kuhn were not fantastic this season as well.
Celtic fans delighted with today's double announcement
Of course, that is not the only announcement that Celtic fans will be happy with. Arne Engels has been nominated for the Young Player of the Year.
Engels has faced a lot of criticism throughout the course of the season. He was brought in for a record fee in the summer from FC Augsburg and took some time to settle down. But he has improved over the course of the campaign and it is good to see him being recognised for that.
Other than that, it is also worth mentioning that Emma Lawton of the Celtic Women's team is up for SWPL Player of the Year. While they have not had a great season, she has been fantastic individually.
